KOBLE CHALLENGES AMODEI TO TELEVISED DEBATE
RENO, NV -- After an announcement by his opponent last week that he would accept an invitation to debate Democratic Candidate for NV-02 Clint Koble released the following statement:
“Representative Amodei said last week, ‘If my opponent wants a debate, I’ll be there.’ Well Mr. Amodei- I want a debate.
It’s unfortunate that Representative Amodei hasn’t held a public town hall since his disastrous vote to gut the Affordable Care Act. Voters deserve to know why he changed positions to vote with President Trump, and his reasoning for voting with such an unpopular president over 98% of the time.
Democracy only works when the people are informed—when they know what the candidates stand for, and what they plan to do with their time in office. I’m calling on my opponent to appear in a televised debate in Reno the week of October 19th.
Additionally Rep. Amodei said he won’t hold town halls because they’re ‘problematic’. What is problematic is refusing to answer questions, in person, from the NV-02 constituents he represents in Congress.
My first town hall will be held in Carson City on September 18th. Voters will be able to come and hear from me directly, ask me questions, because serving the Second District is about being accountable and transparent.”
